Anna Taylor
Wellington, New Zealand
Anna Taylor completed the MA at the IIML in 2006, winning the Adam Prize for her portfolio of stories. This book went on to become Relief, published by VUP in 2009, and the winner of the NZSA Hubert Church Award for Best First Book of Fiction in 2010. Anna was the recipient of the 2009/10 Todd Writers Bursary, which enabled her to spend time writing the first draft of a collection of three long short stories, which she is still working on.
She wrote ‘Cycle’ over a couple of months, often writing in the early hours of the morning, when, by all accounts (including her own), she should have been asleep.
